Wedding Details

Here, you can find all the details you need for the wedding, including information about the ceremony, the reception, gifts, and accommodations. You can also read up on Ukrainian Catholic weddings and read answers to the questions you’ve probably wanted to ask.

Ceremony:

Location: St. John's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 309 6th St. NE, Belfield, ND 58622

Time: 2:30 pm. Obviously, we recommend you arrive a little early. In addition to making it easier to get started, this will provide a good opportunity to familiarize yourselves with the Ukrainian Catholic wedding traditions, since the service will be pretty unfamiliar to many of you (read about it here, though we’ll also be providing programs at the ceremony). 

Reception 

Location: Our reception will take place at the Belfield Memorial Hall, located at 208 Main St. M, Belfield, ND 58622. It is located a block off of Woodward Avenue, and across the street from the Detroit Institute of the Arts. 

Time: 4:30 pm (MT). 

Gifts

In anticipation of spending the next few years as students, we plan to live as frugally as possible, so to pay for our continued education, and be as out of debt as possible. With this in mind, we’ve decided to forgo the customary gift registries, and instead, we hope you will help us make our first few years memorable and ease our financial situation as we begin our marriage. We will be living in Steubenville, Ohio, close to Franciscan University, making the most of our time as students in Theology and Philosophy. A financial gift would go a long way toward these goals.

We are fully aware that many people feel uncomfortable giving monetary gifts. Please know that we appreciate your support, and as we continue in our studies, we want to keep you all apart of our journey. We will be using this website as our blog, so be sure to subscribe for more life updates. 

Hotels 

Hotel: For your convenience, we have booked a block of rooms at a discounted rate at the Trappers Inn in Belfield, ND, and the Rough Riders Hotel in Medora, ND. 

Trappers Inn Reservations: To make reservations by phone, call 701-575-4261, and mention the “Schweitzer/Schaefer wedding.”  To ensure you receive the discounted rate, please make your reservations by May 4th. 

Rough Riders Hotel Reservations: To make reservations by phone, call 1-800-MEDORA-1 and press 1 for reservations. Mention the wedding name, Schweitzer Schaefer Wedding, and the dates of your stay.
